WHAT IS THE CONDITION OF THE KIMONOS?
Kimonos in stock range from recent to vintage to truly antique. Antique and vintage items are old so some wear is to be expected. While this damage does not affect the wearability, please understand this in your selection.
WHERE DO THE KIMONOS COME FROM?
All kimonos are made in Japan. Rest assured by the quality of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT JAPANESE CULTURE, WOULD IT STILL BE ALRIGHT FOR ME TO WEAR A KIMONO?
Of course. Your background does not matter, as long as you like kimonos please try one on. In Japan there are many kimono dressing services for foreign tourists. Certainly you too can enjoy a wonderful kimono experience.
WILL YOU TRAVEL TO A CUSTOMER'S LOCATION?
Normally we do not travel. However, on a case by case basis it may be possible. Please send an inquiry. Expect additional charges if travel is required.
WHAT ABOUT HAIR STYLING AND MAKEUP?
Please prepare your hair and makeup before arriving for your Kimono Marie kimono styling and photo shoot session. We can also provide recommendations and contact information for professional hair and makeup stylists. We suggest you use a professional.
DO YOU HAVE A STUDIO?
No, photo shooting is done outside. Therefore we recommend photo appointments from May to October.
CAN THE FITTING AND PHOTO SHOOTING SESSIONS BOTH BE DONE IN ONE DAY?
Normally the fitting session should be scheduled for a different day than the photo shoot. Please send an inquiry if you would like to do both on the same day.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR DRESSING AND THE PHOTO SHOOT?
Approximately two hours total.
CAN I BRING MY OWN KIMONO AND GET YOUR HELP PUTTING IT ON?
Yes, we provide a dressing service.
IF I CAN DRESS MYSELF WOULD YOU BE AVAILABLE TO ONLY TAKE PICTURES?
No, we do not provide only a photography service.
I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH ANOTHER PHOTOGRAPHER.
Yes, this is possible. However there is no change in price for the kimono and dressing service.
MAY I PURCHASE KIMONOS?
Yes, this is possible. Make an appointment so you can choose in person. There are many more kimonos available than those shown on the website.
